Thank you songs

“Thank You for giving me the morning Thank You for every day that’s new Thank You for giving me the courage to depend on You Thank You for all my friends and family Thank You for all the grownups too Thank You for giving me the courage to depend on You.” ===========================================  “Thank You Lord on this day Every blessing You give us Food and friends, love and joy For our dreams and ambitions Blossom of love may it bloom and grow Bloom and grow forever Thank You Lord on this day Bless our friendships (this marriage) forever” By Sherrill Hetherington to the tune of Edelweiss

Attitude of gratitude

Christ was willing to suffer and be despised, and dare you complain of anything? (CIoC) S A 2 As I read this I wonder what our attitude of gratitude is like. Many of us will have a roof over our heads, food to eat, education, free access to the library, health care….and we’ll wonder why our complaining goes unheard. What are you grateful for today?  Thank You songs

What does God expect of us?

A fervent religious person takes and bears well all that is commanded of him or her. (CIoC) S A 2 Again I ask, is this true to scripture?  Jesus encouraged a friendship with His disciples over a  master slave relationship. J e s u s Read the biographies of Jesus, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and come up with your understanding of what God expects of you.

Why Jesus is bigger than any super hero

He told the truth , He was correct, He was perfect.   Read the biographies of Jesus; Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and determine if this is a true statement. He trusted His Abba Fathe r , the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob even when He didn’t like it.   Meditate on Jesus time in the garden before He was arrested.  Was He struggling with knowing God’s will or was He struggling with God’s will itself? He taught if you live by the sword you die by the sword Meditate on the arrest of Jesus.  How would you feel if you were Peter and/or Judas and/or the other disciples? He authentically loved  everyone Digest the  biographies of Jesus ; Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and determine if this is a true statement. He was very wise when it came to answering folks who were trying to trick him. Read Manga Messiah and determine if this is a true statement. What did you learn from observi...

Power tool -- Our fight as Christians by SA2

“For our struggle Is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”  Saint Paul  -- Ephesians 6:12 “For God so loved the world” (regardless of race, sex, financial background, label…) Jesus -- John 3:16 The forces of darkness want to separate us from the God who loves us and wants to help us. These forces are real as described by Daniel, a Jewish refugee, ( Daniel 10:12-13 ) and hinder the good messages getting through to us so we need to be persistent. When we feel separated from God it can be because we have a blockage in our relationship. This blockage can be different for each of us. For instance: For Nicodemeus it was his theological knowledge and Jesus told him he had to think like a child.  Many adults, with all their theological wisdom can’t match the forgiveness and awe of discovery of a child.( Saint John’s biography of...

Be mindful

Be mindful of the profession which you have made, and always have before the eyes of your soul the reminder of your Saviour crucified. (CIoC) It is a battle and our superhero Jesus does some amazing modelling for us. Our fight as Christians

Finger pointing

Be careful to avoid with great diligence those things in yourself, which commonly displease you in others. (CIoC) S A 2 “When you point your finger at your neighbour there are 3 more pointing back at you!”

When anxious

When you are anxious, and often wavering between fears and hope or being oppressed with grief, humbly prostrate yourself before God in a location that brings you close to Him in prayer, and say within yourself, “O if I knew if I should yet persevere!” You may hear within yourself an answer from God, which says, “If you do believe you should persevere, what would you do? Then do it and you will be secured.” (CIoC)
