God in our every day lives

When a good person is afflicted, tempted, or troubled with evil thoughts; then one understands better the great need one has of God, without whom one perceives one can do nothing that is good. S A 2 Or if your world is easy and you can do everything without God try out your faith and listen to God (just make sure you understand the characteristics of the God/man Jesus and the Holy Spirit before you do this; satan likes to deceive.)

Comfort in God

A person should settle oneself so fully in God, that one does not need to seek many comforts of people. (CIoC) S A 2 Hummm…is this true?  It seems to me that Jesus was very connected to His disciples and committed to community. So does comfort affect our ability to connect with God? Study the biographies of Christ  and the book of Acts  and discuss how important community  is in Christianity.  Who is in your community and how do you affect each other’s lives?

Perfect saints

Why are some of the saints so perfect and contemplative? Because they laboured to ensure no earthly desires controlled them; so that Jesus would always be higher than them.  They fix their heart upon the God/man Jesus who can never be killed and are free for holy retirement. Desire for growth in grace

We might enjoy much peace, if we would not busy ourselves with the words and deeds of other people, and things that don’t pertain to us. (CIoC) S A 2 Thoughts: 1) What if we turn off negative news, games, videos… garbage in = garbage out. 2) Who determines what garbage is?

What to say...

If it be lawful and expedient for us to speak, speak those things that may edify. (CIoC)

Why do we talk?

The reason why we so willingly talk is so that by discussing one with another we seek to receive comfort from the other, and desire to ease our mind, wearied with many thoughts. (CIoC) Hummm…is this true?  Study the 5 love languages  and contemplate the importance of quality time and affirmation. Is it a personality trait for some to process verbally? Watch the  Gospel of John  or another video of the biography of Christ (Matthew, Mark, Luke). What do you observe about Jesus when He speaks? Did Jesus use the 5 love languages during His time here on earth? == SA2 Value(s) not Violence

Safety

Marsh in Cambridge, ON I have often heard that it is safer to hear and to take counsel than to give it.
