Love versus fear

Yet it is good, although love is not yet of force to withhold you from sin, that at least the fear of hell should restrain you.

I find this thinking strange because I learned a long time ago that if I’m authentic with others, myself and God I have a good life. I say this knowing that God will never give me more than I can handle.
